Victorian State Election - 24 November 2018
The Victorian State election will be held on Saturday 24 November 2018. For full information on the election - including details on enrolment and voting while overseas - visit the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) website or call the VEC on +61 3 8620 1100 (charges apply).
To be eligible to vote, you must be correctly enrolled before 8pm (AEDT) on Tuesday 6 November. To enrol, check or update your details, visit the VEC website.
It is not compulsory to vote if you are not in Victoria during the voting period. If you will be overseas on election day and unable to vote, you can advise the VEC by completing a Traveller Notification Form.
If you will be overseas at the time of the election and would like to vote, you can do so by post or in person at some locations.
You can apply online for a postal vote from Wednesday 31 October until 6pm (AEDT) on Wednesday 21 November.
Apply early to ensure that your ballot pack is received in time. To be included in the count of votes, your completed postal vote must be postmarked on or before 6pm (AEDT) on Saturday 24 November and reach the VEC no later than 6pm (AEDT) on Friday 30 November.
Ballot packs can be posted to an overseas address free of charge, but you are responsible for return postage.
In-person early voting
The Australian Consulate-General in Los Angeles will be providing in-person early voting services.
The dates and times that in-person voting will be available will be posted here when the ballot papers have been received in Los Angeles.
Please note that in-person voting will NOT be available in Los Angeles on Thursday 22, Friday 23 or Saturday 24 November 2018.
